BAWF Annual Fundraiser
November 1, 2020
Since its beginning in 2001, Bath Animal Welfare Foundation’s Mission has been to rescue and find adoptive homes for animals who are abused abused, injured, or abandoned. Over the years we have helped many animals in need – providing temporary care, medical treatment and finding and transporting healthy pets to loving homes, many of which are out-of-state adoptions. Generous donations and income from our Thrift Shop have helped support the ever-rising expenses of our work.
In 2019 a number of changes are underway at BAWF.
In order to streamline our efforts we recently made the tough decision to close the Thrift Shop and sell the building. Our dedicated volunteers and Board members have worked extremely hard, and we feel that the shop has served both the animals and our community very well. However, the building was costly to maintain and the tasks associated with the operation of the shop were extremely demanding of our time and attention.
Due to escalating medical costs and boarding fees, BAWF must now concentrate its focus upon our Mission Statement. To that end, we are in the process of acquiring and utilizing 21st Century Social Media tools in order to expand our outreach and networking capacity for animal placement. We are developing an enhanced web presence at this time.
The services we provide will remain the same.
This year, BAWF provided funds for animal medical expenses and the Spay/Neuter Program for the Bath county Animal Shelter as well as pets for Bath County. We supplement food for the pets of our Bath County Meals on Wheels recipients, contribute to the Bath County Christmas Mother program for recipients who have four-legged companions, and assist our senior citizens who are in need of help with the expense of pet euthanasia.
For 2019 year to date, 55 dogs and cats have been adopted, 127 dogs and cats have been spayed/neutered, 49 dogs and cats have been given shots/vaccinations, and 179 dogs and cats have been given medical treatment/surgery.
Please help BAWF continue this good work. Without your help there is no way to continue underwriting the costs of medical care, shots, worming, boarding, micro-chipping, background checks, home visits and transportation to prospective adopting families Who may be out of state. Thank you for continuing your generous financial support to help animals in need.
You may direct your gift into one or more of the following categories: Dog medical, Dog spay/neuter, Dog boarding, Cat medical, Cat spay/neuter, Cat boarding, or Use as Needed.
